STUDENTICA IZ ŽEPČA IZNENADILA SVIJET: Patentirala uređaj za zbrinjavanje medicinskog otpada

Sigurno odlaganje medicinskog infektivnog otpada problem je s kojim se suočava cijeli svijet, a njegove posljedice došle su do izražaja naročito u vrijeme pandemije koronavirusa, kada je došlo do značajnog povećanja količine takvog otpada na globalnom nivou.
Rješenje ovog problema pronašla je inovatorica iz Bosne i Hercegovine Katarina Ponjavić, koja je dobila međunarodnu patentnu zaštitu za pametni uređaj i postupak za sigurno zbrinjavanje infektivnog medicinskog otpada.
Riječ je o patentu koji je dobio najbolje ocjene po pitanju uslova patentabilnosti budući da su svi patentni zahtjevi proglašeni novim, inventivnim i industrijski primjenjivim. Ovo je rijetkost, ne samo u BiH i regiji nego i na svjetskom nivou.
Prednosti ovog uređaja za kojeg je Ponjavić dobila patent su njegove dimenzije (manji je u odnosu na druge na tržištu), brže se obrađuje količina nastalog otpada, svojevrsna je baza podataka o količini medicinskog infektivnog otpada i eliminisat će značajan dio postojećih ekonomskih troškova koji sada postoje (razvrstavanje, skladištenje, transport i odlaganje otpada).
Mlada inovatorica iz Žepča studentica je šeste godine Stomatološkog fakulteta Univerziteta u Sarajevu.
– Upravo sam dobila potvrdu Evropskog patentnog ureda u Minhenu da imam međunarodni patent. Riječ je o pametnom uređaju za zbrinjavanje medicinskog infektivnog otpada. To je uređaj koji bi trebao riješiti sve probleme u ovoj domeni, vezane za zbrinjavanje medicinskog infektivnog otpada – kazala je Ponjavić.
Podsjetila je kako Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) ukazuje na problem zbrinjavanja ove vrste otpada, što pokazuje koliko je to neophodno ne samo radi zdravlja čovječanstva i opće populacije nego i zaštite okoliša.
– Ideal u zbrinjavanju medicinskog infektivnog otpada je da se takav otpad zbrinjava na mjestu nastanka i odmah pretvara u komunalni inertni otpad – otpad koji nije škodljiv, koji je dezinficiran i kao takav se može odlagati u običnim komunalnim kontejnerima – kazala je Ponjavić.
Osim toga, navela je da u BiH ne postoje precizni podaci o količinama medicinskog infektivnog otpada.
U budućnosti namjerava raditi na proširenju ovog projekta, odnosno pogonu koji će služiti za reciklažu novonastalog sterilnog, usitnjenog, komunalnog otpada, prvobitno plastike, jer je medicinski infektivni otpad uglavnom plastika, kako bi se dobila nova sirovina.
Naglasila je da međunarodni patent, kojeg je ona dobila, znači da niko na svijetu ne može proizvoditi ovaj uređaj niti sličan uređaj bez njenog dopuštenja, što za potencijalne investitore znači da bi imali monopol na tržištu, piše AA.
